DMV Question BankHow to Pass the Ohio BMV Permit Test (2026)
Ohio’s temps knowledge test has 40 multiple-choice questions on motor-vehicle regulations and traffic signs. You need 30 correct (75%). Build a safer margin by consistently scoring at least 85–90% before your official attempt.
Study Ohio-specific applications of right-of-way, school-bus stops, Move Over, OVI and implied-consent rules, parking, insurance and driver responsibilities. Give extra attention to snow and ice: reduce speed, expand following distance and remember that four-wheel drive does not shorten braking distance.
Eligible applicants can test online or in person. A failed knowledge attempt requires a 24-hour wait; online attempts are limited to two in six months, while Ohio BMV does not cap in-person knowledge attempts. After passing the knowledge and vision requirements, purchase the TIPIC within 60 days.
Work through Ohio signs, traffic laws, OVI and drug laws, defensive driving, and winter and road-user safety, then review the Ohio Driver Manual.
